"The fact that he supported the marriage amendment to the Constitution disgusts me.
I like Ron Paul's stance on getting the government out of marriage altogether, since it is, after all, a RELIGIOUS ceremony and should be left up to Religious institutions. We don't use our Constitution in this country to strip rights from people, sorry Huckabee.
Finally, I can't vote for someone who's followers are interested in starting a "Christian Revolution"...Yes, these are their words. That just scares the hell out of me and most of the people I know. As a Christian, I'm sick of some on the extreme right who think that it's our job to impose our religion on others through government. Get real. That's exactly what our Founders were trying to get away from.
We don't need a Christian Revolution in this country...We need an AMERICAN Revolution (part 2)! "
"Actually I hope for a Christian Revolution but not of the type imagined. I believe in one where people open their hearts to each other and care about each other. And respect each other. As Christ would have wanted. But for those who can't accept Jesus, I have no problem since I have not done so either. Not as most Christians imagine. So I am not a Christian. But believe God was trying to tell us something very very important on the road that day when he showed us all we are beings of light."
"WRONG! Why don't you look stuff up??? You seem to have a history of not doing your research.
In the Orlando debate, he specifically said it should be left up to the religious institutions and government shouldn't be involved...However, the President doesn't really have much to do with this, so yes, he'd leave it up to the states, which is why at the end of his statement at the debate he said it should be left up to the states.
The main point I was making was that unlike Huckabee, he doesn't want to use our Constitution for a disgusting cause like the Federal Marriage Amendment, as the Constitution is no place for crap like that."
"Our Christians need a Christian revolution... we need to be more willing to stand for what's right in this country and not let a few so called Christians make us complacent."
"It's this attitude that pushes people towards atheism. Nobody wants other pushing their religion on them, Christianity, Islam, or Judaism. People get jaded over this kind of thing."
"Fyrelight74, you're a nut-job. You've proven it in the past two days. Thanks for showing me what I already suspected about a lot of the extreme Christian Right."
"No one is stopping you from standing for whats right. I hope you have never let another get in your way of doing so. That is the least expected of a decent person."
"Talldude should know better. None of those dictators were Christians in the least. They professed mystical Pagan ideologies. And practiced occultism. They persecuted many Christians. They used their abilities to manipulate decent Christians to follow them under the guise of nationalistic honor. We've matured a little since... All people in government is a good thing. Except for people who want to exterminate others. They are a bad thing. "
This is false. He wants it to be up to state government... multiple interpretations."
